First Step Health Agency is one of the many health care agencies in Georgia. They all provide students with certification they need to enter the health care profession.
First Step offers much more than just the entrance. It produces not only the "first step" into this booming career, but also the skills and attitude one will need to excel in it. This health agency differs from all of the other because it introduces the help and concern of the students exceeding the class.
Students of all ages in the classroom with an educated and experienced instructor for a time span of three weeks. Here, they learn the basic care of the elderly, injuried and ill patients. They also learn the intricate history of phlebotomy and its uses. There are weekly quizzes and exams that are given to the students in order for them to be made aware of and graded on their progress, strong points, and areas which they may need a little more practice. With all the excercisingof their skills in the classroom, the students are able to move along into the next phase of the course; clincal.

Clinical is the students experience of actually working with and taking care of residents in a medical facility. They (the students) will be supervised by a clinical instructor who will also be grading them on their usage of the skills which they accumulated over the three week classroom training. The students will be in the clinical atmosphere for three to four weeks. At the end of these six to seven weeks, the students will be given a final exam, which will enable them to be employed as Certified Nursing Assitants or Phlebotomists.
For those having a hard time finding a job in today's competative job market, this is a great opportunity to get into the medical field in a short amount of time. This is the first step to a successful health services career.
